Green and White Youth Association, Inc. (“GWYA,” “we,” “us” or “our”) is a volunteer-run nonprofit organization in Pen Argyl, Pennsylvania. We respect the privacy of the families, donors, volunteers and visitors who use this website. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you fill out our donation form, send a message through our contact form, email us or call us, you may provide your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, the amount and type of gift you wish to make, and any message you choose to include. We only ask for what we need to respond to you or process your gift.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically record basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you visit and the time of your visit. This information is used to keep the site secure and working properly. We do not use it to identify individual visitors.

Preferences stored on your device. If you switch between light and dark mode, the website remembers your choice using your browser’s local storage. When you complete the donation form, the details of your pledge are held briefly in your browser’s session storage so they can be shown on the thank-you page. This information stays on your device and is not sent to us.

To process, confirm and acknowledge donations, including providing tax receipts
To coordinate volunteers, registrations and sponsorships
To share news about our programs and events, if you have asked to hear from us
To meet our legal and financial reporting obligations as a nonprofit

What we do not do

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone. We do not use your information for advertising by other organizations. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. Registration information about young athletes is collected from parents or guardians and is used only for the purposes of running our programs.

Sharing information

We share information only when necessary. This may include sharing with a payment processor to complete a donation you have requested, with our sports league or insurance carrier when required for a child to participate, or with authorities when required by law or to protect the safety of a child. Volunteers who handle personal information are expected to keep it confidential.

Third-party services

Our contact page displays a map provided by Google, and we link to our Facebook page. When you interact with these services, their own privacy policies apply. We encourage you to review them.

Photographs

We share photos from games, competitions and events to celebrate our athletes. We do not publish children’s full names alongside their photos on this website. If you would like a photo of yourself or your child removed, contact us and we will remove it promptly.

Data security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect the information you share with us, and we keep it only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected or as required by law, such as financial records related to donations. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and limit access to those who need it.

Your choices

You may ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to stop contacting you, at any time. Simply email Robert@youth4greenghana.org or write to us at the address below. You can also clear your browser’s storage at any time to remove saved preferences.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be noted on our website.
