There is a job for everyone
Coaches, scorekeepers, grill masters, sponsors and cheering fans all keep this association running. Find the role that fits you.
Coach or assist
You do not need to have played college ball. Our coaches come from all walks of life. What matters is patience, reliability and a willingness to learn proper technique. New coaches are paired with experienced ones, and the association helps volunteers complete required clearances and recognized safety training.
Help on game day
Every game needs people to run the clock, keep stats, work the chains, staff the concession stand and handle tickets. These are perfect jobs for parents who want to help but cannot commit to every practice. Even one shift a season makes a difference.
Join a committee
Fundraising, events, equipment and field maintenance each have a small team of volunteers behind them. If you are good at organizing, building, fixing or asking for donations, there is a committee that would welcome you.
Sponsor a team
Local businesses have always been the backbone of our program. A sponsorship puts your name on our banners, jerseys or event materials and, more importantly, keeps registration affordable for the families who are also your customers and neighbors.
Sponsorship can be as simple as a single team banner or as involved as underwriting the cost of new helmets for an entire division. We also welcome in-kind gifts such as food for events, printing, raffle prizes, and professional skills like electrical work, landscaping or accounting.
- Recognition at Green and White Field and on our social media
- Your logo on banners, programs or team apparel, depending on level
- A thank-you letter with our EIN for your records
- The satisfaction of seeing your support on the field every week

What to expect as a volunteer
Because our volunteers work with children, Pennsylvania requires certain adults to obtain clearances before they begin. These typically include the Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, the Pennsylvania State Police criminal record check and, in many cases, an FBI fingerprint check. We will tell you exactly which ones your role needs and how to get them. Most can be completed online in an afternoon.
Coaches are also asked to complete concussion awareness training, such as the free CDC HEADS UP course, and to learn the safety rules of their sport. We think of this as a basic promise to the families who trust us with their kids.
Attend a monthly meeting
The easiest way to start is simply to show up. The association meets on the first Wednesday of every month at the GWYA building in Pen Argyl. You will hear what is coming up, meet the board and coordinators, and find out where help is needed most. There is no pressure to sign up for anything on your first visit.
Donate equipment
Gently used cleats, softball gloves, bats and practice gear can help a new player get started. Please do not donate used football helmets or shoulder pads, since protective equipment must be fitted and certified, but most other gear in good condition is gratefully accepted. Contact us before dropping anything off so we can make sure it gets to the right place.
Give financially
If your schedule is already full, a gift is one of the most useful ways to help. A monthly donation, in particular, gives the board a steady base to plan around. Choose a giving plan that works for you.
